Laverty enjoyed the mountain views, demanding climbs and fast descents. He found his route well marked and praised the first-year organization, while noting strenuous power-hiking and a discrepancy between advertised podium prizes and those awarded.

Marathon

Chris found the opening 10 km hilly before a flatter greenway out-and-back. Warming sun made frequent extra water stations welcome. Racing a triathlon the day before left him tired and anxious, but encouragement from clubmates helped him finish in 4:23:19.
