Marathon

Neoh found the race well organized, with sufficient water and supportive volunteers. Flat straight roads felt lonely and could be boring, while traffic control near the town finish needed improvement. Poor sleep and accumulated training fatigue affected his own run, which ended slower than planned.

On his 2009 race along Highway 91, Dane found the early downhill tempting to run aggressively. Once the sun was fully out, the exposed road became difficult for him, and the mountain shade he could see ahead never seemed to get closer.

Historical course context from a different, older Mesquite Marathon on the Highway 91 corridor shared with the currently published 3 State Marathon map. This is a November 2009 experience, not a review of the new 2027 race. Start and finish arrangements, exact course length, weather, traffic management, aid and organization may differ.
