Leandro Hidalgo · 2011
Leandro found the cold and strong wind physically demanding, but completing the marathon with his wife and son accompanying him by bicycle made it deeply meaningful. He described relief and happiness at the finish despite a difficult personal race.
Source context and limitations
A March 2011 full-marathon account in the Falkland Islands, called Malvinas in the original Spanish. Family accompaniment was personal support. The author’s remembrance-oriented trip shapes the perspective; political assertions, diagnoses and medical advice are excluded. The organizer introduced a new four-loop route in 2025, so this does not describe the current course.
