At the 2026 Conakry leg of the Guinea-to-Guinea challenge, Mario Sagasser found the botanical-garden laps hot and dusty, but enjoyed the birdsong and forest-like trees. After finishing, he helped pace Doris before their hurried departure for the airport.

Mario Sagasser’s personal account of the February 2026 Conakry marathon, published by his German running club. He calls organizer Dayo a running friend. Only his Conakry observations are summarized; the same article’s Bissau praise, hotels and tourist travel are excluded. The dusty botanical-garden laps and hurried post-race departure describe that edition.
