Pamela Sneddon, Triathlon Scotland · 2023
The federation profile describes a difficult start for the first race: emergency pool repairs forced organizers to move the Super Sprint swim into Campbeltown Sea Loch. It records how the local organizing team adapted the event before later returning Race 1 to the reopened pool.
Community opinion; participation and firsthand experience are not established. Historical Race 1 context from a complete April 2024 Triathlon Scotland profile of organizer Innes Boyd and the Kilkerran MOK series. The account describes the 2023 pool closure and sea-swim substitution; it does not describe the current pool course or establish that the writer raced or attended. Triathlon Scotland is the sport’s national governing body and the article promotes the local series while discussing its early operational difficulties. Distinct Southend and Machrihanish races, their scenery and their course assessments are excluded from this Race 1 account.
