What racers and reviewers say
- RacecheckRaced 2026 · aggregator · Positive
Racecheck shows 39 reviews averaging 4.38 out of 5 (2026 average 4.73). Reviewers agree on friendly staff and volunteers, a well-organised event, a scenic lake with good water quality (4.62) and simple registration. The run is varied but hilly and can be tough in heat or on grass. Bike traffic is mixed: some found roads quiet, others found congestion. Swag lowest at 4.00 and course congestion 4.23. Some reviews are tagged with Centurion distances, so labelling is imperfect.
“Every aspect worked well.”
- RacecheckRaced 2026 · aggregator · Positive
A sister race at the same lake: 13 Racecheck reviews averaging 4.52. Reviewers describe clear lake water with kayak guides, a bike course with some fast A-roads (the A428) and careless drivers, and a hilly, mostly off-road run on grass and uneven wooded sections. Organisation, volunteers and water stations are praised. Useful for venue and course character, not the Sprint or Standard directly.
- Alan Anna blogRaced 2018 · blog · Positive
A World Cup quadrathlon report at Box End in a July 2018 heatwave. The lake was calm and 28 °C (82 °F), so wetsuits were banned. The site has an aqua-park, wakeboard lake, camping and a pricey restaurant. Off-road bike and run were bumpy and grassy. Marshals, briefing and helpers were thanked. Different format, so used for venue facts only.
