Why people love it
- Utah's longest-running triathlon (since 1998), with sprint and Olympic and a welcoming feel
- Reservoir swim in 14 to 18 °C (57 to 64 °F) water, with most racers in wetsuits
- Bike along the Provo River, praised by racers as fun and scenic
- Sells out, with around 700 athletes in 2026
Watch out for
- Parking is the top complaint: 5:30 am shuttles or a steep 4.8 km (3 mi) ride back
- Low water means a run of up to 0.8 km (0.5 mi) from the swim to T1
- Race sits at about 1,900 m (6,200 ft); afternoon heat can top 32 °C (90 °F)
- Only 3 RaceEntry reviews and some news exist, so treat the details as rough

What racers and reviewers say
- RaceEntry (TriUtah) race reviewsRaced 2026 · aggregator · Mixed
Three reviews averaging 3.2 of 5. Common theme: parking is a nightmare, with a steep uphill ride of about 3 mi (4.8 km) back to the lot in 32 °C (90 °F) heat. Course scores are good (3.5 to 5.0), organisation scores low (2.0 to 4.5). One 2025 reviewer says buoys moved during the swim and the long leg faces the sun.
“Great race, terrible parking.”

Race day report: 5:30 a.m. shuttles from Francis Fairgrounds, headlamps needed, water expected 60 to 65 °F (16 to 18 °C (64 °F)) so most wore wetsuits. Mentions a 0.10 run from the water to T1 and a past low-water year dubbed a quadrathlon. Sprint winners 1:16:17 and 1:24:11; Olympic 2:01:34 and 2:34:24. No problems reported.
- Park City Park RecordRaced 2013 · article · Mixed
In 2013 low water made the run from the lake to T1 nearly half a mile (0.8 km) and uphill. A Park City club racer called the bike fantastic and the course beautiful, and the run a little tougher than expected; the low water was his only gripe. Olympic winners were 2:03:35 and 2:21:02.
“fantastic”
- Park City Park RecordRaced 2026 · article · Positive
Preview in 2026: about 700 triathletes, the biggest year yet, registration closed. Swim in the reservoir, bike along the Provo River, run along the reservoir and river; Olympic is the harder of two. Race director frames it as a welcoming community race; no problems reported.
- TownLift preview 2026Raced 2026 · article · Positive
Preview for 20 June 2026: sells out consistently, water usually 58 to 64 °F (14 to 18 °C (64 °F)), optional shoe-drop if low water. Spectators park at Francis Fairgrounds and pay $7 for a shuttle; packet pickup at three locations over five days.

Only the intro was readable: course mostly unchanged since 2004, 4:45 a.m. wake up and an hour drive. Notes a long parking walk. Little else usable.
