Kaizen Magazine (individual writer not credited) · 2025

Event context · see format details

Kaizen’s retrospective describes the inaugural KROP as a lively, communal event. It highlights cheering at each return through the loop, volunteers preparing food and runners staying to encourage later finishers.

Community opinion; participation and firsthand experience are not established. An affiliated club publication linked by the race organizer, not an independent participant review. The complete article concerns September 27, 2025 at Welling Ridge Trails near Tahlequah, Oklahoma, across several distances and a ruck relay. The individual writer and their attendance or firsthand role were not established. Its positive assessment reflects the publisher’s view; it does not verify every runner’s satisfaction, a particular distance finish or present course and support arrangements. No numerical rating is assigned.

    Kat P · 2019

    Ultra

Kat valued the community, camping and mountain views, and called the race well run. She found technical terrain and route-finding demanding and thought some aid stops, particularly the turnaround, lacked appealing supplies.

  • Muzafer Čepeljac — historical Ultra Viking interview ↗

Muzafer Čepeljac / OCR Balkan selected interview · 2025

Historical 2025 Ultra Viking — reported 60 km / 150 obstacles; exact day unverified

Praises the energetic atmosphere and aid stations. Finds the long muddy sections and crawls demanding and describes an emotional finish with a friend’s encouragement.

Complete original native interview, relevant exchanges, conclusion and funding disclosure read. The interview itself is undated and names a Dutch Ultra Viking; its 2025 Amsterdam identity is a corroborated join to Kurir’s original 1 October 2025 report of the same athlete’s 60 km / 150-obstacle outing. The exact raced day remains unknown. The municipal 2025 notice places that Amsterdam event in Spaarnwoude; no unchanged 2027 route is inferred. The speaker owns BBK Warrior Gym and discloses municipal/commercial financial support for preparation, team help and time with Patryk in the Netherlands. Exact entry/travel funding and other terms are unstated. National-first, crowd and completion-rate claims are not independently verified or used as ratings. Training and medical claims are excluded. No numerical overall is stated.

  • Ashley Samples — 2016 Hills competitive 19 km ↗

Ashley Samples / Obstacle Racing Media · 2016

2016 Hills Edition — nominal 19 km Odin competitive wave

Enjoys varied obstacles, clear course markings and an energetic festival. Praises parking, registration and showers. Wants Flying Ragnar to work better for smaller athletes and mandatory-obstacle rules to be clearer.

Complete original first-person article and visible byline read, published 2 June 2016. Explicitly enters the 19 km Odin competitive wave and races 21 May. Describes a park behind Snow Planet; the original municipal notice independently names Spaarnwoude for that weekend. Her exact historical start and an official competitive result are unverified. Media affiliation is explicit; entry funding and other commercial terms are unstated. Her obstacle and facility descriptions concern 2016, not 2027. Other athletes’ Facebook complaints, award claims and comparisons are not extra independent accounts. No numerical overall is given.

  • Andi — 2017 Hills Beast account ↗

    Andi / MudRadar · 2017

2017 Hills Edition — nominal 19 km+ Beast; exact day unverified

Praises quick check-in and bag collection, no queues, varied terrain and helpful volunteers. Enjoys the mix of obstacles and finds the thick mud demanding.

Complete original participant narrative, conclusion, visible author link and date read; published 22 May 2017. Explicitly names Spaarnwoude and identifies this as the second of four Beast distances that season. The exact raced day and official result are unstated. Chooses to swim rather than traverse the Dragon Tails rope obstacle; no complete competitive-obstacle finish is claimed. Publisher affiliation and advertising labels are visible, but specific entry funding and commercial terms are unknown. This is the same Andi who contributes observer text to the 2018 article. Current routes, obstacle inventory and queue conditions are unverified. No numerical overall is supplied.

  • Anja’s first Iron Viking and Andi’s observer account — 2018 ↗

Anja (Matschtante) and Andi / MudRadar · 2018

2018 Brother Edition — nominal 42 km Iron Viking; one obstacle skipped; exact day unresolved

Anja enjoys a proud first Iron finish and supportive encouragement, but reports a wrong turn, demanding carries and a crowded obstacle she skips. Andi, observing and taking photos, praises nearby parking and the event space.

Complete original participant and observer sections, byline and conclusion read; visible publication date is 26 October 2018. The introduction identifies the 13–14 October Brother Edition at Spaarnwoude, while her prose also says late October; her precise raced day remains unresolved. Anja enters the nominal 42 km Iron Viking and describes multiple distance loops, a detour and a self-reported finish within the cutoff. She explicitly skips the final Storm the Castle because of crowding, so full mandatory-obstacle or official competitive completion is unverified. Andi is her husband, publisher and observer/photographer here, not a separately verified racer; both voices share one containing page. Entry funding and commercial terms are unstated. Her allegations about other racers are excluded. The moved start area and historical conditions do not establish the 2027 layout. No numerical overall is stated.

    Andreas Bettingen / Judith Strack · 2017

    Marathon

The authors enjoyed the Danube scenery, well-organized transfers and spacious, well-stocked aid stations. They found the road course generally flat and fast, with some less interesting stretches. Rain intensified near the finish, where warm drinks, food and a swim helped them recover.

A shared 2017 full-marathon report by two Marathon4you contributors. Course and weather details are historical; the article notes a route adjustment that year.

    Tor Rønnow · 2022

    Marathon

Tor found the event well organized, with easy bag drop and plentiful, well-stocked drink stations. He enjoyed many scenic sections but disliked the parking-garage passage and felt the city-center crowds were quieter than on earlier visits. The second lap felt much emptier after half-marathon runners finished.

A 2022 full-marathon photo report by a repeat participant. Crowd levels, aid, garage passage and route impressions belong to that edition; current course and services may differ. Personal comparisons with earlier visits are not a general event ranking.

    Alexander Brooks

Event context · see format details

At Waterville’s Two Cent Bridge, Alexander Brooks appreciated watching the river and seeing the padlocks left by couples. He found the atmosphere peaceful and lively.

Perspective: course preview outside the race; race-day execution is not established. Outside-race visitor context at the Two Cent Bridge, used in the race’s documented 2026 finish approach. The actual visit date and year are unknown, and the review does not say he crossed the entire bridge. The 2027 course and finish remain unconfirmed. This is a personal impression of the bridge setting, not marathon feedback, a review of the whole course, current conditions, hydrology, structural safety or race services. The review appeared under his name on Google Maps; its relative publication label does not establish the visit year.
