What racers and reviewers say

  • Moray Road Runners: Auckland Marathon 2015Raced 2015 · blog · Positive

Hilly residential streets, Harbour Bridge at about km 19 (mile 12), flat out-and-back to the turn at km 30 (mile 18.6), tougher final miles in sun. Ferry from the quay at 05:00, 06:00 start, dry weather. A great time.

    “once-in-a-lifetime experience”

    Fiona Hamilton and Robert Bruce
  • Hills in the first 6 km (4 mi), the exposed motorway, the Harbour Bridge climb, and a strong headwind back from St Heliers at 31 km (19 mi); wind stopped mattering after km 18 (mile 11) in the early half. Many slowed or hit the wall; drafting groups helped.
