Chris Gordon, interviewed/profiled by Run Tri Bike
Marathon
Chris praised Lake Wobegon’s scenery, friendly people and value, calling the course forgiving. Missing his time goal by seconds was disappointing, but he valued the experience and was considering another attempt.
An athlete interview published in 2024; the race edition is not explicitly stated. The profile also promotes Chris’s motivational speaking and book, so this is an attributed participant perspective rather than an independent survey.

Maarten2212 · 2025
Marathon
Maarten enjoyed the route and village spectators on his first marathon. Heat made the water and sponges important, and he felt supplies were sparse late in the race. Merging with slower half-marathon runners made the last four kilometres difficult to navigate, but he was happy with his 3:14:17 finish.
A public forum participant’s 2025 full-marathon account. Heat, aid spacing and the late merge describe that edition; current arrangements may differ.

Dennis Romboy · 2024
Event context · see format details
Dennis enjoys the rushing river, trees and Bridal Veil Falls along the Provo River Parkway between the canyon mouth and Vivian Park, a ride he and his wife have repeated for years. On their August 2024 outing, a thunderstorm interrupted the ride, leaving mud and rocks on parts of the trail as they headed back.
Perspective: course preview outside the race; race-day execution is not established. Historical outside-race cycling context from August 2024 on the canyon-mouth-to-Vivian Park segment used by the 2026 Runtastic Marathon. The organizer says Utah City replaces that race in 2027, but its final route details are pending. Dennis is a Deseret News reporter and this is his personal column, not a race review. The storm describes one past outing; it does not establish current trail conditions, typical race weather, services or safety.
